Inspection and overhaul of Knoedler gearboxes

The main company in Bulgaria which manufacture flexible packages invited Paliniko to carry out an overhaul of two gearboxes Knoedler.

One of the engineers noticed abnormal noises and vibrations of the main gearboxes which are responsible for the production.

Paliniko had to inspect and repair two gearboxes manufactured by Knoedler.

Both gearboxes were sent to our workshop for inspection and repair.

1^st Gearbox:

• Manufacturer : Knoedler

• Type: FZ 400.2 – UAED60

After dismantling of the gearbox we found that all gears and shafts are damaged.

Paliniko decided to measure all of the bearing bores and found that the bores are out of the limit.

This was the main reason for the failure of the gearbox.

Scope of work:

• visual inspection of the gearbox

• measuring of the bearing bores

• reconditioning of the bearing bores of the housing

• manufacture of a complete gear set

• assembling

2^nd Gearbox:

• Manufacturer : Knoedler

• Type: FZ 1200.2 - A

After visual inspection we found that the output shaft should to be replaced with a new one and one of the gears as well.

The reason for the failure of the second gearbox was that the bearing bores were out of the limit too.

• manufacture of a new output shaft

• manufacture of a gear

• reconditioning of the bearing bores of the housing

• assembling
